Barnes Auto & Towing in Chapel Hill is a 3rd generation towing company. We’ve been in business for over 40 years serving the Chapel Hill community! We started with just 1 truck and now have over 20 units ready to assist you in your towing, roadside & recovery needs!

Jaffey Barnes always had a passion for working on cars. His dream of having his own shop became a reality when he started Barnes Auto in a rural area of Chapel Hill in 1981.

In 1989, his son Jaffey Barnes II took over the business and added towing to the services they offered. Since then, we have grown and adapted to the ever-growing Chapel Hill area and its needs. Still family owned and operated, we are here to serve you! We pride ourselves in valuing customer service and professionalism.

We have hired an excellent staff and most of our operators have over 20 years of experience working ion the towing industry and are capable of getting any job done, big or small. Our entire staff go through extensive training including Wreckmaster certification to excel in their profession.

We plan to continue our tradition of top notch and quality service to the Chapel Hill community and surrounding areas for many more years to come!
